Let’s start with number 3 — the Crazy House Hotel or Hang Nga Guesthouse in Vietnam. This hotel was built in 1990 in Dalat, and has since been added onto numerous times over the years. This treehouse of sorts more resembles a fairytale castle than a hotel with its curvy interior and exterior.

Our number 2 weirdest Asian hotel is the Capsule Inn in Osaka, Japan. The room just consists of a small capsule, with about 2m x 1m x 1.25m area. The capsules are stacked on top of each other, and each one has TV, bed, and a wireless Internet connection. Yeah, pretty cool amenities!

And last, but not the least, our weirdest hotel in Asia — the Flush Hotel in South Korea! Yup, flush as in toilet! The hotel is shaped like a toilet and the owner, Sim Jae-Duck, built the $1.6 million toilet bowl in order to raise awareness about cleaner sanitation around the world. The weirdest thing: staying for one night will cost you $50,000!! However, the proceeds will go to poor countries and provide them with proper sanitation ^_^

Courtesy of the book of Guinness World Records, now in its 54th year. Here are the weird record-breakers:
Longest rabbit
Meet Amy, the rabbit pictured above! She measured at 81.5cm in Britain this year and is the pet of Annette Edwards. Amy to the Flemish giant breed, which is known to weigh up to 8kg. WHOA!
Largest rubber duck
The world’s largest plastic duck is 25m tall. Without a tub in the world big enough to hold it, the art exhibit found a home in a river near the port of Saint-Nazaire, France.
Most operations to look like an animal
Dennis Avner , of the United States, had 14 surgical procedures to make him look more like a cat. The operations included ear adjustments, forehead implants and changes to his upper lip and teeth. What was he thinking?? SO WEIRD!!
Most sumo squats in an hour
How many times can you squat in an hour? If you’re like Dr Thienna Ho, of Vietnam, then 5135 is a good session. The world record-holder for “most sumo squats in one hour” was inspired to practise her unusual talent by her judo master father. I can’t even squat properly, sheesh!

1. Master Cleanse / Lemonade Diet – Water mixed with maple syrup, lemon juice and cayenne pepper. BeyoncĂ© admitted following this regimen for two weeks to drop 20 pounds for the film “Dreamgirls.” Jared Leto used it to shed about 30 pounds he gained to play Mark Chapman in the new film “Chapter 27.”
2. IV Diet – Celebrities check in to the hospital to get put on an IV (intravenous) so they can avoid eating altogether.
3. Boiled Egg Only Diet – During the filming of “Cold Mountain,” there were rumors that one famous actress on set ate only boiled eggs. She would rise in the morning and eat one and then have one or two at the end of the day. That was her entire diet! Could this be Renee Zellweger??
4. Red Bull Diet – Who else epitomizes this but Paris Hilton! The heiress caused a stir when she walked into New York restaurant Nobu recently and told the waiter her order of “Mineral water.” Over the course of her two-hour “meal,” Paris only took sips of water and Red Bull – she didn’t eat a single bite o_O
5. Dieter’s Tea Diet – In reality, it is a mild laxative and some stars drink up to 10 cups a day. One Hollywood trainer says: “The latest trend among models is mixing laxative tea with the Master Cleanse diet. All they drink is Master Cleanse and laxative tea.”

Then be aware of their weird needs and quirks! Celebrities are unique, some come become friends with their personal assistants (PA) and some can be a receiving end of their anger.. But, if you really wanna be a PA, then read on and be enlightened about some of their weird work!
-Mariah Carey reportedly once required an assistant to hold up her drink with a straw so that she did not smudge her lipstick.
-Prince Charles has a court of 85 personal assistants. He had a team of four valets so that one was on hand to pick up his clothes; another to squeeze the toothpaste on to his brush; and another who once held the specimen bottle while he gave a urine sample.
-Working as an assistant to Jennifer Lopez cannot be easy. Among her dressing room demands are white flowers, white tablecloths, white curtains, white candles, white couches, and low-watt light bulbs. She also likes her coffee to be stirred anti-clockwise (!!!).
-When Lindsay Lohan went for rehab awhile back she brought along a massage therapist, a hairdresser and a manicurist.

You’d think that a product with a very specific name (mouth + wash = cleans your mouth) will
also have a very specific and narrow use in daily life. Not with mouthwash! Stumbled on one site earlier today that listed some weird uses of mouthwash. Read on!!
1. For computers with non-LCD screens (like glass), mouthwash can remove smudges and dust very easily. And the most enticing, as a screen cleaner, mouthwash is a bargain! Just compare the prices of a true-blue computer screen cleaner with mouthwash ;-p
2. Mouthwash can also be used as bathroom cleaning product. Its anti-plaque ingredients effectively clean toilet bowls and kill bathroom germs. Here’s how to do it: Pour two ounces of mouthwash into the toilet bowl and let the liquid sit for 30 minutes. Follow up with a quick swish with a toilet brush and then flush.
3. Mouthwash is also a low-cost skin treatment since its alcohol and bacteria-fighting ingredients are great for freshening up your skin. Just rinse your skin after with cold water!
4. Mouthwash can be used to remove strong odors like that of garlic and onions. To remove the odor, soak a cotton ball with mouthwash and apply it to your hands. Let the mouthwash dry before rinsing. It can also banish underarm odor in stressful days
5. Mouthwash as an anti-fungus treatment!! Now, this will definitely save you lots of money. Here’s how its done: mix 25 percent mouthwash and 75 percent water and spray onto plant leaves suffering from mildew and fungus once a week. For humans with mild cases of athlete’s foot and toe fungus: soak a cotton ball with (sugar free) mouthwash and apply it to the foot several times a day.

Yeah, you read it right.. LOVED ONE = DIAMOND. Imagine this: cremate your loved one and from his/her ashes, a diamond will be created — for you to cherish until the end of time. After all, diamonds are forever =) If it sounds weird to you, it is! LOL! But there is really a service that does this. Algordanza, a small company based in the mountainous southeast of Switzerland, uses the ashes of dead people to make diamonds at prices starting at less than 5,000 euros ($7,488). U.S.-based LifeGem and Britain’s Phoenix Diamonds also offer diamonds made from hair. Hair contains more carbon than ashes meaning a gem can be created from the hair of a living person.
Algordanza (“remembrance” in Romansch) Chairman Veit Brimer explained, “Some people find it helpful to go to the cemetery and grieve, and they leave their grief in the cemetery. There are some people who, for whatever reason, do not want to have this farewell. Astonishingly these are mainly Christian people. They say: ‘Why should I say goodbye? I’ll see my husband in 15 years in heaven anyway.’” Laura Simanton at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) concurs, “Some people find it is a great honor and remembrance. The technology is certainly getting better.”

It’s coz the brains of flies are wired to avoid the swatter. According to U.S. researchers who made their fly study results known last Thursday, at the mere hint of a threat, the flies adjust their preflight stance to flee in the opposite direction. Of course, you, the swatter is like “what?? where did it go??” Michael Dickinson of the California Institute of Technology explained, “These movements are made very rapidly, within about 200 milliseconds, but within that time the animal determines where the threat is coming from and activates an appropriate set of movements to position its legs and wings.”
Apparently, in response to a threat from the front, the fly moves its middle legs forward, leans back and raises its back legs for a backward takeoff. If the threat is from the side, the fly leans the other way before takeoff. Mr. Dickinson, whose research appears in the journal Current Biology, further explained: “This illustrates how rapidly the fly’s brain can process sensory information into an appropriate motor response.” So you, the swatter, not swat at the fly’s starting position, but instead, aim for the escape route.
